Joachim Hauk

New president of Germany, law-enforcer and pastor from GDR – Joachim Hauk took the oath in Parliament.

In accordance with the constitution written in the text of the oath, German president shall  “to multiply the good of the German people and avoid troubles” and also comply with the constitution and other laws of the state. Hauk read the text of the oath from the rostrum of the parliament.

Before the ceremony, Chairman of Parliament Norbert Lammert thanked Christian Woolff – predecessor of  Hauk, who came to the parliament with his wife Bettina.

Thus, Woolf, who in recent days, recuperated his health at the monastery, appeared first the time on public after he officially left his post on March 8.

Tonino Guerra

Screenwriter, director, poet and artist Tonino Guerra died in Italy this Wednesday in age 93.

BBC reported that Tonino Guerra is an author of more than hundred scenarios. Tonino Guerra worked with such famous directors like Michelangelo Antonioni, Federico Fellini, Luchino Visconti and Andrei Tarkovsky.

Tonino Guerra had big friendship and love of Georgians and Georgia. In 2000, Guerra held master-class in Georgia with support of the Netherlands Cultural Fund and the Eurasia Foundation.

Italian artist was close friends of Rezo Tabukashvili, Chabua Amirejibi, Eldar Shengelaia, Sofiko Chiaureli and other public figures.

Time and place Tonino Guerra’s burial is unknown.

Leprechauns in Bandon

There may not be pots of gold at the end of the rainbow, but one of the Irish towns proved that it is full of leprechauns.

Bandon in West Cork adequately responded to the challenge of Glenties of Donegal, which was also planning to get into the Guinness Book of Records for the largest cluster of leprechauns in one place.

In total on the main street of Bandon gathered 1263 tiny little men with red beards, green hats and coats in order to set a new record.

One enterprising dwarf even came with a plastic “crock” with chocolate coins.

Glenties was bit disappointed by the fact that Bandon managed to collect more leprechauns than they, but they promised to fight for the title next year. They collected 1023 leprechauns.

Jacqueline Kennedy

John F. Kennedy’s Library published personal records and documents of Jacqueline Kennedy-Onassis. Records were made in 1962 one year before the assassination of the President.

The part of documents is related to the project of Jacqueline Kennedy about reorganization of rooms in White House.

“The document makes clear how deeply she was educated in art, history and design. She also paid much attention to each detail connected with her project.” – said the director of the Kenney Library – Tom Putnam.

Jacqueline Kennedy’s personal records gave to the Kennedy Library the children of president – Carolyn and John Kennedy Junior.

Joanne Rowlings New Book

British writer Joanne Rowling began writing her first non-children novel. This work will be radically different from Harry Potter.

“I receive pleasure from every page written for the new book” – said Rowling. The writer does not expose the theme and the name of the book.

Rowling signed a contract for releasing a new book with Little Brown Company of the publishing house by Hachette Book Group.

In 1997-2007 was sold over 450 million copies of Harry Potter novels and movies shot according to the novel had over 7.7 billion Dollars of income.

Rowling is the first writer, who became billionaire due her work.

Viganella Mirror

Italian small village – Viganella is shined by “second sun“. The village is surrounded with high mountains, which why sun cannot reach it. Every year from middle of November till middle of February it is dark in Viganella village, but the locals have found a way to solve the problem.

Architect Giacomo Bonzani installed a giant mirror on the top of the one slope of the mountain, which reflects rays of the sun, so that it could reach Viganella.

The sun is five meters high and 8 meters width and it can light the village.

It is managed automatically. Its inclination is managed with special panel.

Installation of giant mirror costed 10 000 Euro. It brought to the village not only solar light, but also a lots of tourists.

Baumwipfelpfad Bridge

In Bavarian National Forest is built the longest and highest bridge over the trees. It is one of the highest constructions in central Europe.

Wooden construction for walking – Baumwipfelpfad was built two years ago. It is 300 meters long and 26 meters high. It is combined with nature. The bridge is so high that you will see the distant mountains and fields.

Walking bridge ends with 44 meters tall oval, dome-shaped building. It is conventionally called the observatory. Around the building is located spiral stair. It is available to watch the beauty of the nature from each footstep.

The organizers of the project wanted relieve people from everyday problems and feel themselves as a part of the nature while walking on this bridge.

“This place is very popular in society. We are sure that all of them are thinking about the beauty of nature and the fact that it needs a care” – explained the project organizers.

“This place is truly a paradise. Imagine you are walking among the giant trees. I will never forget the experienced impressions” – said the tourists.

Attakus Atlas

In Eastern Himalayas the scientists found the biggest butterfly in the world. Its wings are 25 cm long.

The strange butterfly was named “Attakus Atlas”.

The volume of butterfly wings during flight may reach 30cm. despite the strange color and size, the butterfly is not poisonous and it is absolutely safe.

This variety of butterflies lives two weeks. They inhabit in tropical and sub-tropical forests.

Chinese called this butterfly “Head of the Snake“, because this harmless insect looks like reptile.

Swiss company – Hublot produced the most expensive watches in the world. Their price is 5 million Dollars.

Watches are made from white gold and diamonds. There are in total 1822 copies. Hublot’s head Jean-Claude Biver said that these watches were made by 17 masters in 14 month. They will be exhibited in Bazel on closed corporate event.

Specialists believe that despite the economical crisis in Europe, the demand on Swiss watches is high.

Hubolt is one of the oldest and famous watch companies, which produces precious and prestigious production.
